Debbie thanks for sending this.  I have calls in all over and have not yet heard back from the shelter, but this is a shelter that usually wants to do their own adoptions and will not usually work with rescue groups.  They know we are here, and did not bother to call.  However, it would make life so much easier for those of us that do rescue, if the folks who monitor Petfinder would PLEASE just contact the closest rescue person and let them handle it instead of posting to all the Scottie e-mail lists.  More than once, a shelter has refused to consider working with Scottie Rescue because they had been so inundated with calls from people all over the country.

Scottie people are passionate about the breed but that sometimes comes across as arrogance to harried rescue workers, and they think that everyone who calls is working for rescue.  Believe me, people will call or e-mail me from across the country wanting me to ship a dog to them, without doing home visits etc.

Shelters will not consider this any more than Rescue People but they get harassed by the people calling, saying things like "I thought you wanted to give the dog a good home." and things like that.  PLEASE, ask all the other lists that you are on (once again, as I know that Daphne has repeatedly asked folks to just contact the local representative)

If you don't know who that is, go to http://clubs.akc.org/stca and find the closest person, if you still can't find them, then just send the information to the National Coordinator, and let them contact the closest person.

The new National Coordinators are:
